Window Tints Enhance UV Protection

Protection from sunlight is a must since UV rays can be harmful. You’re vulnerable to them even when you’re inside your vehicle. Research shows that UV light penetrates windows that aren’t tinted, suggesting that passengers in cars with clear glass windows are exposed to harmful radiation.

Installing car window tints is not just an aesthetic whimsy but a need — especially in Arizona. Constant exposure to UV rays causes more than just sunburn; it could put a person at a higher risk of developing skin cancer. As a matter of fact, both the American Association of Dermatology as well as the Skin Cancer Foundation recommend car tinting service as an effective defense against harmful sun rays.

Applying sunscreen before going out for a ride is not enough to protect you and your loved ones from UV exposure. When driving out in the arid landscapes of Arizona, you’ll need a more effective method of blocking radiation from your window.

Window Tinting Shades Chart We Offer

Guide To Different Tint Shades

Window tint comes in a range of shades, from clear to completely blacked out. We’re bound by the legal limits of tinting as to how dark your window tint can be, but within the limits there is still a large range of choices. Fortunately, many of the benefits of window tinting, including protection from harmful UV rays, are not dependent on your windows being ultra-dark.

Which Type of Window Tint Is Right For You?

When choosing your tint material, percentage, shade, and color, you need to consider your style preferences and comfort or privacy needs. Do you want to enhance the look of your car or keep your cabin cool? Determining what is most important to you will better guide your decision-making process.

Some questions to consider when selecting window film are:

  • What is your budget?
  • Do you want to protect yourself from harmful UV rays?
  • What colors appeal to you?
  • How long do you plan on driving your vehicle?

If you need help picking out the perfect tint, the technicians at ProTech Detailing are more than happy to offer our assistance.

What Factors Influence the Price of Auto Window Tint?

When it comes to window tinting, there are a variety of factors which affect the price. Below we outline these different factors and explain why they can increase (or decrease) the cost of your window tint.

Vehicle type. Simply put, vehicles with fewer windows require less material—which means a lower price. Similarly, those vehicles with ‘easier’ windows will take less time and effort to install, which means less cost.

Unique vehicles. Some vehicles have unique aspects which increase the price of tint. A Tesla Model 3, for example, has a massive glass roof which adds a lot of time and material to the installation. Older vehicles can be more complex because there are no templates for them for a tint plotter and the tint for their windows must be hand-cut to size. That said, most shops won’t charge more; you will just have a longer appointment time.

Installer experience. Installing window tint is an absolute art. If you don’t believe us, we challenge you to try and clean the inside of your back window. You’ll see what we mean. Now imagine doing that, but with a massive piece of tint that can’t touch anything, otherwise it will get contaminated. Well, you get the point.

Brand of tint. You pay for what you get. The brand of window tint will absolutely affect the price. For example, we use Madico window tint. Madico has the industry’s best warranty and ranks highest in terms of looks, durability, and performance. These quality window films can only be installed by certified tint shops. This certification is mandated by the manufacturer so they can ensure their tint always outperforms their competition.

How Much Does it Cost to Tint my Tesla?

When it comes to tinting a Tesla, there are a variety of different prices based on the vehicle type. First off, a Tesla should only be tinted using higher non-metalized window tint. This is because metalized window tints can affect the electronics within the vehicle. This put your cost at the higher end of window tint technology.

While this is happening, it is still performing to its full capabilities, but you might see bubbles, haze, streaks, or other visual defects while drying. Don’t be alarmed! This is completely normal while the remaining solution evaporates. . Additionally, the cure time can vary given different circumstances.
